Education
In Scotland you can go to a public or private school. "Scotland was one of the first countries to have free public schools open to both boys and girls (as early as the 17th century)." - www.scotland.org
- Even though the public schools are available for all children, it is very expensive to pay for child care in Scotland. According to Citizens Advice Bureau, the cost for one year of daycare in 2014 was approximately 5400 B.P. (making it very difficult for low-income families to afford child care).
- There are 13 years of Primary/Secondary schools in Scotland plus an additional 2 years of 'preschool'.
